Abstract. A hierarchical and predictive fuzzy control for the ball mill of the central storage pulverizing system for thermal power plant is proposed in this paper. The suggested algorithm solves the difficult problem of serious coupling between parameters of multi-variable system and significantly improves the performance of the ball mill.

Normally the ball mill designers use three types of balls with three different diameters. These balls reduce in size as the mills operate and so the highest size ball is normally used for recharging. In earlier days, most of the ball mills had a single inlet and outlet, but now designers use both ends to feed coal and also for taking out ...

Effect of ball diameter size on mill power draw The mill power draw for each mill run was determined from the voltage required by the mill motor average voltage and torque. To take a closer look at the relationship between the power draw and the ball diameter, Figure 4 …

When ball mill cement grinding system is used in steel ball and steel forging, it is a common operation habit to "add material after starting empty grinding and stop grinding after discharging empty material". However, using ceramic grinding balls, these habits become the most common "killer" of "broken balls".

High quality Cement plants use high chrome cast Iron balls for ball mill / Chemical Industry from China, China's leading casting iron balls product, with strict quality control ball mill media factories, producing high quality ball mill media products.

In cement plant and power plant, ball mills remain in current and widespread use. The load parameter inside a ball mill directly impacts the stability of the production process, the grinding production rate, and the quality of the product in the grinding process. Accurately predicting the load from acoustic signals remains a challenging problem because of the nonlinearity and high dimensions ...

The analysis [45] proves that the maximum capacity of the ball-ring mill is obtained using 5 or 6 balls. Because earlier, as a rule, a greater number of balls was used, there is a possibility to increase the capacity by replacing the existing balls through a lower number of bigger balls.

Mill power Usually, plant operators use mill power readings as an indicator of ball filling degree and, often, try to keep it at the maximum level. It is well known that the mill absorbed power depends on operating parameters other than ball level, such as pulp density and liner configuration. Figure 2 shows that there is no linear relation between

However, the energy used for fine grinding is still significant. Moreover, as this paper seeks to demon-

The stress intensity expressed as the power input per ball is dependent on the ball diameter to the third power and only slightly dependent on the inner diameter of the mill. The number of stresses can be characterised by the average retention time of the ground material inside the mill if the ball charge grading remains unchanged.
